Residents have raised concerns over the danger, confusion, and traffic congestion caused by the installation of Department of Transport’s  Pop-up bike lane infrastructure at the intersection of Marine Parade and Glen Huntley Road in Elwood. 

Helen, a resident of Elwood said ‘lives are at risk here where they previously were not. Wait to see what kind of havoc this causes. Cars turning left at an intersection (pictured above), into a bike lane, where the previous 100m or so would have riders think they have right of way. The big peletons with smart riders won’t even use these lanes. Where will the culpability rest? Certainly not with the community who have clearly and repeatedly warned of the dangers, although our taxes and rates may end up footing the bill’
