The proposed routes include up to 2kms of pop-up bike lanes on Kerferd Road, with an additional 38kms of new and improved bike routes across Port Melbourne, Albert Park, St Kilda and Elwood.Have your say on the proposed pop-up bike lanes on Kerferd Road on the Vic Roads website: https://transport.mysocialpinpoint.com/pop-up-bike-lanes#/ I'm all for cyclist safety as a cyclist with teenagers using the roads, but not unnecessary or poorly designed traffic reduction measures. They are proposing to:reduce traffic to one lane each way through the Richardson Street Roundabout creating congestion and making it harder to cross Kerferd Road, andto reduce traffic to one lane under the light rail overpass on Albert Road towards MSAC which make it a nightmare to get across Canterbury Road at all. It’s also completely unnecessary as there is a good 1.5m unused on the right hand side that could be used to make the existing bike lane wider and safer.I fear using Kerferd Road will be like getting through St Kilda in peak times. I'm sure there are better solutions for cyclists and cars. Image of existing bike lane in Kerferd Road, Albert Park
